Hello
I'm driven to solve nuclear problems. I want to bring agility, adaptability and accessibility to the nuclear research and industrial production space.
My Story
Nuclear energy is my passion: I've spent over two decades in every technical aspect of nuclear operations. My dream of working in nuclear was from reading encyclopedias (Scientific American's Encyclopedia of Science and Invention) at the age of 9. The fascination and promise of nuclear technology was fully-imbedded.
I started my journey in 1997 by serving in the US Navy as a Reactor Operator and Engineering Watch Supervisor on the USS La Jolla (SSN701). I was fortunate to experience various major aspects of submarine nuclear power plant lifecycle management.
I was fortunate to attend Penn State in the fall of 2004 and begin working at the on-campus research reactor, the Penn State Breazeale Reactor (PSBR) facility, the Radiation Science and Engineering Center (RSEC). I licensed as a Senior Reactor Operator to supervise reactor operations where I learned of the value of this major US asset. This was my first experience in nuclear and radiochemistry where I augmented my Chemistry degree with a unique skillset
